Son Threatens Mother with Sword in Nagpur Over 10,000 Rupees for New Phone

Nagpur, India: A shocking incident happened in Bhandar Mohalla, Indora, where an 18-year-old boy threatened his mother with a sword after she refused to give him ₹10,000 for a new cellphone. The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of Jaripatka Police Station.
According to police, Sona Anil Khandekar (47) struggles financially to manage household expenses. On Sunday evening, her son, Tanush alias Tanya Anil Khandekar, returned home after spending time with friends and demanded ₹10,000 from her. When Sona explained her inability to provide the money due to financial constraints, Tanya lost his temper and threatened her mother.
In a fit of rage, Tanya verbally abused his mother, grabbed a sword kept in the house, and started destroying furniture. He also struck a cupboard with the weapon and threatened serious harm to Sona and her daughter if his demand was not met. Before leaving the house, Tanya warned them of dire consequences if he didn’t get the money.
This incident attracted neighbours to the scene. Fearing for her and her daughter’s safety, Sona went to Jaripatka Police Station and lodged a complaint.
The police recorded her statement, conducted a spot inspection, and registered a case against Tanya under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code. A search operation has been launched to locate the accused. Investigations are ongoing.
