Nagpur, India: Wadi police have arrested Sahil Siddharth Nitantware, a 19-year-old resident of Defence Colony, on charges of rape and assault. The arrest follows a complaint by a 17-year-old minor girl residing within the jurisdiction of Police Station Wadi.

According to the police, Nitantware befriended the victim between August 8, 2021, and August 11, 2024, and subsequently threatened her to engage in non-consensual physical relations. He allegedly recorded a video of the assault and continued to threaten the victim, using a blunt object to inflict physical harm. In addition, Nitantware is accused of threatening the victim’s parents and disseminating obscene photos and videos of the victim to her relatives, which were then made viral.

Following the complaint, Police Sub-Inspector Karinge of Police Station Wadi registered a case against Nitantware under several sections of the Indian Penal Code, including Sections 376, 376(2)(n), 315, 506, and 323.
