Due to their involvement in six chain snatching incidents in Nagpur, two males from Odisha have been taken into custody. On March 28, commissioner of police Dr. Ravinder Singal claimed that two Odisha locals, Jafar Ali Gholu Ali and Jaheer Husain Mohammad Bihari, were implicated in chain snatching instances in various sections of the city.

According to him, the police used CCTV evidence to identify the culprits during the inquiry and were able to track them down to their Odisha hometown.

The two were captured by the Nagpur Crime Branch with the assistance of the Odisha police, and the official stated that they had mobile phones, a motorcycle, and stolen gold jewelry in their possession. According to him, the police were looking for a second partner in the thefts.
