Builder Threatened at Knifepoint for ₹7 Lakh in Sadar, Youth Arrested
Nagpur, India: A 21-year-old man was arrested by Sadar police for allegedly threatening a builder with a knife and demanding ₹7 lakh in extortion. The incident happened on Sunday evening, 6th April, at a construction site near Itara Apartment in the Sadar area.
According to police, the builder, Manmohan Mundhada (48), was supervising the construction of a seven-storey building when the accused, Lucky alias Gujjar Pavit Gaure, a resident of Navi Wasti, suddenly arrived at the site.
He allegedly pulled out a knife and said, “You’re constructing a seven-storey building here. Give me ₹7 lakh or you’ll face serious consequences.”
Shocked by the threat, Mundhada immediately filed a complaint at Sadar Police Station. Acting quickly, the police registered a case under Sections 308(5) and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and arrested the accused.
Further investigation is underway to find out if others were involved in the extortion attempt.
