Lature, India: A state transport (ST) bus overturned on the Nagpur-Ratnagiri Highway in Maharashtra’s Latur district on Monday, injuring at least 38 passengers. The accident took place near Nandgaon Pati in Chakur tehsil around 2 pm and was captured on CCTV.
According to officials, the bus was traveling from Ahmedpur to Latur when the driver suddenly swerved to avoid a motorcycle. This caused the vehicle to lose control and overturn.
Divisional traffic officer Sandip Padwal confirmed that 38 people were injured, with six in serious condition. Eyewitnesses stated that the bus was moving at high speed and skidded for some distance before stopping.
Emergency teams quickly arrived at the scene, and the injured were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
