Nagpur, India: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has announced a major river-linking project to transport water from the Gosikhurd Dam in Bhandara to Buldhana. This initiative, part of the state’s River Linking Project, aims to improve irrigation across seven districts in the Vidarbha region.
Speaking at the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi distribution event in Nagpur, Fadnavis shared details of various schemes launched to support farmers. He also reiterated the importance of the Nalanga-Wainganga River Linking Project.
Fadnavis stated that 100 TMC of water from the Gosikhurd Dam, which currently goes to waste, will be redirected through a 500-km-long artificial river to Buldhana. This project is expected to bring thousands of hectares of farmland under irrigation, benefiting farmers in seven districts.
