58-Year-Old Woman Dies After Saree Catches Fire in Hudkeshwar

Nagpur, India: In a tragic incident in Hudkeshwar, Nagpur, a 58-year-old woman, Lalita Naresh Vinchurkar, succumbed to severe burn injuries six days after her saree caught fire in a kitchen accident.

The mishap occurred on November 25 around 11:00 AM at her home in Mahatma Gandhi Nagar. Lalita was near the kitchen altar to fetch some medicine when her saree accidentally came in contact with an oil lamp’s flame. The fire caused severe burns on both her legs.

Family members quickly rushed her to the hospital, where she was admitted for treatment. Despite receiving medical care, her condition worsened, and she passed away on December 1 at 8:35 AM.

The Hudkeshwar Police have recorded the incident as an accidental death based on medical findings. Further investigations are ongoing to understand the circumstances of the unfortunate incident.
