Vidarbha, Akola, India: The Akola police report indicates that Shubham Lonkar has connections with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol Bishnoi, and he is allegedly involved in the trafficking of firearms.

A social media post from an account named ‘Shubhu’ claimed responsibility for the murder of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Baba Siddique. This post has reportedly been confirmed by the Mumbai and Akola police.

The investigation revealed in January 2024 that Shubham Lonkar, who resides in the Akot tehsil of the district, provided locally made pistols to young people from Akot and other areas of the Amravati district, including Anjangaon Surji.

Shubham is identified as the mastermind behind gun smuggling, having supplied firearms to numerous individuals. In January, the Akot police arrested three individuals who had purchased guns from him. The investigation was conducted by Anmol Mittal (IPS), the sub-divisional police officer of Akot.

The investigation uncovered that Shubham Lonkar was the leader of a gun smuggling operation. He had been residing in the Warje area of Pune for several days before being apprehended by the Akot police.
