Ameen Sayani, the renowned radio presenter of the popular show "Binaca Geet Mala," died on Tuesday from a heart attack. He was 91.

Sayani's son, Rajil Sayani, stated that his father experienced a heart attack on Tuesday night and was taken to HN Reliance Hospital in Mumbai, where he died. He said, "The doctors at the hospital attended him but couldn't save him and he was declared dead."

Born into a family that valued literature highly—his brother, Hamid Sayani, was a renowned English broadcaster, and his mother had published a periodical called Rehbar—Ameen Sayani started working at Radio Ceylon in 1952.

The voice came from big wooden box-shaped radio sets in living rooms all around the country, saying, "Namaskar bhaiyon aur behno, main aapka dost Ameen Sayani bol raha hoon."

When Bollywood songs were forbidden from airing on All India Radio, his presentation became an instant smash. Additionally, it served as a platform for the promotion of common Hindustani, which struck an emotional cord with people all around the nation.
