Anti-Narcotics Squad Seizes 400 Grams of Ganja, Arrests Two in Nagpur

Nagpur, India: The Anti-Narcotics Squad of Nagpur's Crime Branch has successfully apprehended two individuals for possession of ganja during a late-night operation on September 3, 2024. Acting on reliable intelligence, the operation took place in the Dhantoli area, near Yashwant Stadium.
The suspects, identified as 36-year-old Yogesh Jagatsingh Thakur and 39-year-old Ramkumar Manoj Patel, both residents of Sangam Chawl behind Yashwant Stadium, were caught engaging in the exchange of ganja on a public road. Upon searching the suspects, the authorities seized 400 grams of ganja and Rs. 450 in cash, with a total value of Rs. 8,450.
Further interrogation revealed that the suspects were involved in the purchase and sale of narcotics, operating with the assistance of a wanted criminal named Majid, who is believed to be from Ballarpur. The suspects have been charged under sections 8(c), 20(b)(2)(B), and 29 of the NDPS Act, and a case has been registered at Dhantoli Police Station.
Both suspects have been taken into custody, and the seized items have been handed over to Dhantoli Police for further investigation. The search for the wanted accomplice, Majid, is ongoing.
This operation was conducted under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Detection) Rahul Makanikar, with guidance from Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) Abhijeet Patil. The operation was executed by PI Gajanan Gulhane, API Manoj Nevare, and other members of the Anti-Narcotics Squad.
