Vidarbha, Ballarpur, India: In two separate incidents on October 13 and 14, BALLARPUR police arrested four individuals and confiscated two country-made pistols.
Acting on a tip-off, the police arrested Akash Baburao Chafle (24) and Pranay Maroti Junghare (23), both residents of Subbai in Rajura Taluka, Chandrapur, along with Palwinder Singh Chandsingh Bawari, a resident of Kannmanagar Ward, Ballarpur, on October 14.
The police seized a 0.7 mm country-made pistol worth ₹25,000 from Akash Baburao Chafle. A case has been registered under IPC Section 7 and Section 27 of the Indian Arms Act, with crime number 959/2024. In total, four individuals were arrested, and two illegal firearms were confiscated. The investigation is ongoing.
Following a tip-off, the police raided the home of Kashmir Singh and Mahendra Singh Bawari, residents of Fukatnagar, Bamani, Ballarpur, in Chandrapur district. During the search, they discovered a 0.7 mm single-barrel country-made pistol with a magazine, valued at ₹10,000, on Sunday evening. A case has been registered under IPC Section 3 and Section 25 of the Indian Arms Act, with crime number 958/2024.
The operation was successfully conducted under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Mummaka Sudarshan, Additional SP Reena Janbandhu, and Rajura SDPO Deepak Sakhare.
The police team involved in the operation included Ballarpur Inspector Sunil Vitthalrao Gade, A S Topale, API Hussain Shah, Gajanan Doifode, Anand Parchake, Ranvijay Thakur, Satyawan Kotnake, Santosh Dandewar, Sunil Kamatkar, Purushottam Chikate, as well as officers Shekhar Mathankar, Sharadchandra Karush, Vikas Jumnake, Vashistha Rangari, Milind Atram, Khanderao Mane, Laxman Chavan, Anita Naidu, and driver Vikas Khandar.
Their coordinated efforts led to the timely detection of the crime. This operation is especially significant as it comes just weeks before the Assembly elections.
