Guru Adyar K Lakshman, who was born on December 16, 1933, is well-known in the Indian classical dance community. Adyar Lakshman has received numerous honors and titles for his excellence as a natyacharya throughout the course of his remarkable career.

In addition to the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1991, the Padma Shri in 1989, the Kalaimamani from the state of Tamil Nadu in 1981, and the Sangeetha Kala Acharya from the Music Academy in 2004 are among his many honors.

In remembrance of him, his students from Nagpur, Bharatanatyam gurus Kishor and Dr. Kishoree Hampiholi, arranged a Bharatanatyam event with his choreography, featuring senior students and performers from Kishor Nritya Niketan, Nagpur. On Monday, December 18, 2023, at Scientific Hall, the senior students and gurus of Kishor Nritya Niketan performed a full Bharatanatyam Margam.

Dr. Vinod Indurkar, the Chairman of the CCRT from the Indian government's Ministry of Culture, was the event's main guest. He stated that these kinds of gatherings are urgently needed and that the stage is brought to life via the arts. He also emphasized the similarities between the three creative forms—drama, dance, and music. He also emphasized the significance of a guru in a disciple's life.

Devendra Gawande, the resident editor of Loksatta, presided over the event. He discussed how traditional dance programs like this have declined and are not appreciated by those in positions of authority. Gurus of Kathak dance, Lalita Hardas, and Bharatanatyam dance, Shrimathy Madkholkar, were in attendance as honored guests.

During their show, the dancers performed a full Bharatanatyam Margam. The show started with the evocative dance work Nandi chol, a quick dance performed in honor of Shiva, the god of dance, Nataraja. Allaripu, a dance that showcases a dancer's full warm-up before beginning the dances that highlight abhinaya or expressions, came next.
