Bhoomi Poojan Ceremony Held for Manewada and Mhalgi Nagar Flyover in South Nagpur

Nagpur, India-  A ceremony was held on the evening of August 3 to mark the start of building two new flyovers on Inner Ring Road in South Nagpur. Each flyover will cost Rs 73 crore. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis led the event, with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari as the chief guest.

The flyovers will be built by the State Public Works Department's World Bank division and are expected to be finished in 24 months. The first flyover will be constructed over Manewada Square, an area with frequent traffic jams and accidents. The second flyover will be built over Mhalgi Nagar Square.

The necessary work orders for both flyovers have been issued, and construction will start soon. Preliminary checks are currently being done, and the foundation work will begin shortly. The government approved Rs 73.14 crore for the Manewada Square flyover, with a technical approval of Rs 51.32 crore. A Nagpur-based company has been awarded the project for Rs 46.75 crore.

Similarly, the Mhalgi Nagar flyover received an approval of Rs 73.14 crore, and its work order has also been issued.

According to PWD officials, both Manewada and Mhalgi Nagar squares often have traffic problems. These flyovers aim to ease traffic, reduce accidents, and save commuters time.

The groundbreaking ceremony marks the beginning of this important project to improve traffic flow and safety in South Nagpur. The presence of key political leaders highlights the importance of this project for the region.
