Bipasha Basu recently revealed some shocking information about her daughter Devi Basu Singh Grover's condition. Devi was born with two holes in her heart, according to the actor during an Instagram Live interview with Neha Dhupia. Karan Singh Grover and Bipasha Babu welcomed their first child on November 12, 2022, and they have continued to share insights into their parenting journey. However, in a recent discussion, Bipasha broke down as she described how her three-month-old daughter had to have open heart surgery.
Bipasha revealed that on the third day after Devi's birth, doctors informed her that her daughter had two holes in her heart and that they needed to get a scan every month to see if the holes were healing. Bipasha went on to say that the doctors had cautioned them that because the holes were so large, it was unlikely that it would happen on its own. They also advised the parents that the procedure would be best performed when Devi was three months old.
"You feel so sad, burdened, and conflicted because how can you put such a small child through open heart surgery," Bipasha remarked, wiping away tears. She went on to say that they materialized their belief that it would happen on its own. "It didn't happen the first time we did the scan. The following month, it did not. When we went for the third month, I had done a lot of research, talked to surgeons and doctors, and visited hospitals," Bipasha explained as she sobbed.
While her husband, Karan Singh Grover, was not ready, the actress was certain she wanted to heal her daughter. "I knew she had to be all right. I knew she'd be fine. And she is OK today. It was all about getting the operation done at the appropriate time and in the correct area," Bipasha explained.
"But if you love your child, you must do it, no matter how difficult (it can be)." It is for your child's future. Devi's operation was a complete success, and I had no doubts about it. But for the six hours she was in the ER, my life seemed to come to a halt." Bipasha continued, "Devi is our brave heart, and she is very powerful."
