Nagpur, India: BJP members and supporters celebrated their huge win in the Delhi elections. The celebrations took place at the BJP office near Tilak Putla in Mahal. Women danced the traditional 'Fugdi', while others burst firecrackers and shared sweets. Supporters shouted slogans, happy that AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, who had said his party could not lose, was proven wrong.
BJP leaders in Nagpur were thrilled by the party’s big win in Delhi.
MLA Krishna Khopde said Congress is losing power due to broken promises and nepotism. He believes Maharashtra leaders should learn from this defeat.
City BJP president Bunty Kukde said that winning after 27 years has energized party workers. Celebrations were held under his leadership at Tilak Putla.
Former MLC Girish Vyas said AAP was created to fight corruption but has become corrupt itself. He promised that BJP would make Delhi one of the best capitals in the world and improve living conditions for students, women, and the elderly.
Former BJP city vice-president Pratap Motwani credited Prime Minister Modi’s leadership for the win and said that development in Delhi would continue.
Vijay Kewalramani, president of Sindh Mukti Sanghatan, called the victory a win for honesty. He said Kejriwal, who started as an anti-corruption leader, later engaged in corruption himself. This result, he added, was a strong message to AAP and Congress.
BJP’s victory in Delhi has boosted its strength and weakened its opponents in Indian politics.
