Nagpur, India: A case has been filed against BJP leader Munna Yadav and his sons, Karan and Arjun, following accusations of verbally abusing and assaulting police officers on the night of October 5. The incident has caused tension within the party and alarmed BJP leadership.
The altercation is said to have arisen from a long-standing family feud between Munna Yadav and his brother, Bala Yadav, which has resulted in frequent conflicts between their families. This ongoing dispute has been a persistent concern for the Dhantoli Police Station.
The incident began around 7 PM when Avadhesh Yadav, Munna Yadav’s nephew, was attacked by Karan and Arjun’s associates. As the Dhantoli police were taking Avadhesh and other injured individuals for medical treatment, Munna Yadav approached the police vehicle.
Inside the vehicle were Dhantoli police officials, including in-charge Anamika Mirzapure, PSI Raikar, Dhanaji Raikar, and constables Sunil Shinde and Subhash Vasade. When Munna Yadav saw Constable Vasade, he allegedly issued a threat, saying, “You’re finished, I’ll handle you.” This exchange prompted the police to take formal action by registering a case against Yadav and his sons.
The incident has worried BJP officials because Munna Yadav has a history of controversies, including an attempted murder case. Matters became more complicated when a BJP MLA visited the Dhantoli Police Station to help resolve the issue and allegedly pressured the police to downplay the incident.
With elections approaching, this incident has negatively affected the party’s image, as public threats and abusive behavior from its members could harm its reputation.
