For the upcoming Lok Sabha and assembly polls next year, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president, Chandrashekar Bawankule, has achieved significant fame in the party hierarchy. Several key changes were implemented, including the appointment of Jitendra alias Bunty Kukde as the new BJP city president, replacing the incumbent Pravin Datke. Additionally, the former MLA Sudhakar Kohale replaced Arvind Gajbhiye as the district chief.

Both Pravin Datke and Arvind Gajbhiye had served a full three-year term, with Datke even completing an extra year as the interim president in 2019.

Following his appointment, Jitendra Kukde wasted no time and met with senior party leaders, including Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, seeking their blessings and support. "I am committed to propagating the party's ideology across the city. My plan is to reach every household and ensure at least one dedicated BJP worker from each of them. Strengthening the party and working for the city's development will be my top priorities. I aim to follow the footsteps of esteemed leaders like Gadkari and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who have positively transformed the face of the city," stated Kukde confidently.
