The 200-year-old Ram Mandir in Sitabuldi, known as Paturkar Ram Mandir, has a unique connection to Ayodhya. Despite being less publicized by the Paturkars who maintain it, the temple emanates a tranquil atmosphere and seldom discusses the events it witnessed. The temple played a role in the Ramjanmabhoomi Andolan, hosting meetings by Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Durga Vahini leaders during the Ayodhya Karseva in 1992.
In an interaction with 'The Hitavada,' Pankaj Paturkar shared that the temple, established in 1835 by Digambarbuwa Paturkar, the great-great-great-grandfather, has been worshipped by six generations of the Paturkar family. During the same period, the temple proudly participated in the collection of bricks for Ayodhya.
As it nears its 200th year in 2023, the temple, with no affiliation to any organization, continues to maintain its holiness and purity. On January 22, 2024, during the Ayodhya 'Pran Pratishtha' celebration, the Nagpur temple will join in the historic moment with various spiritual programs throughout the day.
