The Goa government has declared the Hindi film Chhaava tax-free in the state. The film, based on the life of Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, received this exemption as part of the celebrations for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s 395th birth anniversary.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant made the announcement on social media, stating that Chhaava showcases the courage and sacrifices of Sambhaji Maharaj, who fought against the Mughals and Portuguese. He expressed hope that more people would watch the film and learn about the warrior’s legacy.

Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava stars Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna, and Akshaye Khanna. The film has been praised for its grand visuals and historical significance, though some critics noted flaws in its storytelling.

Madhya Pradesh has also granted the film a tax exemption, making it more accessible to audiences across different states.
