Popular television actor Dinesh Phadnis, best known for his role as Frederick in the TV series CID, passed away late on Monday night. The actor had been admitted to Tunga Hospital in Mumbai and was on a ventilator.

Co-stars from CID, along with Phadnis's family, are gathered at his residence. The last rites are scheduled to take place today at the Daulat Nagar crematorium. Actor Dayanand Shetty confirmed the news, stating, "Almost everyone from CID is present right now."
