Nagpur, India: Nagpur residents woke up to warmer weather as night temperatures rose significantly. Rain showers were also experienced in a few areas. The mercury climbed by 3.9°C in the last 24 hours, reaching 15.4°C. Overcast skies and brisk winds in the afternoon further marked the shift in weather.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said the rise in temperatures to a cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal. This system has increased humidity levels across Vidarbha, including Nagpur, creating cloudy skies that trap heat and prevent nighttime temperatures from dropping significantly.

Morning humidity levels were recorded between 70 to 88 per cent in the region, further contributing to the temperature increase.

The cloudy conditions are likely to persist over the next few days, signalling the end of the severe cold spell that gripped Nagpur earlier this month. While the daytime temperatures remain comfortable, the rise in night temperatures has brought noticeable relief to residents.

Stay tuned for updates from the Meteorological Department as the changing weather patterns continue to impact the region.
