Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Thursday to discuss key development projects, including the Gadchiroli mining hub, Nagpur airport, and the release of 15th Finance Commission funds to local bodies.

Fadnavis informed the Prime Minister about the progress in Gadchiroli district, stating that it is rapidly developing into the ‘Steel City’ of India. He urged the Central Government to extend its support in transforming the region into a major mining hub.

He also discussed the ongoing development of Nagpur airport, assuring that work was being expedited. Later, in a tweet, he mentioned that any obstacles in the airport project would be addressed soon.

Another major issue raised was the timely release of 15th Finance Commission funds to local bodies. Fadnavis stated that Prime Minister Modi responded positively to all the concerns discussed during the meeting.

Additionally, Fadnavis thanked the Prime Minister for giving Maharashtra the opportunity to host the World Audio, Visual, and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) in Mumbai from May 1 to 4. As part of this initiative, an Indian Institute of Creative Technology will be established in Mumbai, modeled after IITs, with funding from the Central Government.
