Farmers are being asked to repay their crop loans on time to avoid losing benefits and facing loan access issues. District Collector Saurabh Katiyar has urged farmers to repay their loans within the set period and renew their accounts.
Every year, banks give crop loans to farmers, which must be repaid within 365 days or by June 30. Those who repay on time can get new loans the next year. If loans are not repaid on time, farmers may not receive future loans. Therefore, it’s important to pay back the loans and renew accounts on time.
By renewing their accounts, farmers can benefit from schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and the Panjabrao Deshmukh Interest Subsidy Scheme, which offers loans up to Rs 3 lakh at zero per cent interest.
Timely repayment also helps farmers get bigger loans based on new rates, maintain a good credit score, and qualify for other loan schemes. These include loans for micro food processing, agricultural projects, orchards, greenhouses, animal husbandry, and more.
The District Superintendent of the Agriculture Department stated that all banks in Amravati district are ready to renew loan accounts and provide new loans quickly. Farmers should repay their crop loans and renew their accounts before June 30 to enjoy these benefits.
