Solapur, India: In a shocking incident, stand-up comedian Pranit was brutally attacked by a group of 11-12 men following his show at 24K Kraft Brewzz in Solapur on February 2, 2025. The attack happened around 5:45 PM when Pranit stayed back, as usual, to meet fans after his performance.

Once the crowd had dispersed, a group posing as fans approached him, only to assault and threaten him instead. The gang, led by Tanveer Shaikh, repeatedly punched and kicked the comedian, leaving him injured.

According to reports, the attack was related to jokes Pranit had made about Bollywood debutant Veer Pahariya. One of the accused even warned him, saying, "Agli baar Veer Pahariya baba pe joke maarke dikha!"—a clear threat against making further jokes about the actor.

Shockingly, the venue, 24K Kraft Brewzz, reportedly had no security in place. Despite repeated requests, the organisers have refused to provide CCTV footage, which could serve as crucial evidence in the case. Furthermore, Pranit’s team claims that although the police were informed and promised to send help, no action was taken at the time of the incident.

Expressing deep concern over the attack, Pranit’s supporters highlighted such violence against artists. "If a comedian can be physically assaulted for making a joke, what does that say about our freedom of speech and safety?" they questioned.

An online complaint has been lodged from Mumbai, urging authorities to take immediate action and conduct a thorough investigation. The incident has sparked outrage, with many demanding strict measures to prevent such attacks on artists in the future.
