Nagpur, India: In a swift operation, Crime Branch officials apprehended two minors just eight hours after a reported robbery. The minors had allegedly tricked a young man from Sausar, Madhya Pradesh, by offering the promise of physical companionship, only to rob him once he arrived.

The incident occurred on November 10 in the Ganga Jamuna area, where cash, a mobile phone, and a motorcycle were stolen. Police sources reported that the victim, a 29 year old Sausar resident referred to as Pankaj (name changed), had parked his bike at Itwari Station before proceeding to Ganga Jamuna around 9:15 p.m., seeking companionship. As he was walking around, one of the minors approached him, promising to introduce him to an attractive woman and persuading him to follow along.

The minor led Pankaj to Sunil Hotel, where he discreetly informed an accomplice about the plan to rob him. Together, they took Pankaj to the Baradwari area in Pardi. There, as planned, they attacked him and stole his cash, mobile phone, and motorcycle.

Following the robbery, Pankaj reported the incident at the Pardi police station, which subsequently directed him to the Lakadganj police station.

Interestingly, during the incident, one of the minors instructed Pankaj to transfer 100 rupees via PhonePe to his mother’s account, as Pankaj had a low bank balance.

This small transaction proved costly for the suspects, as it enabled the Crime Branch to trace the account to a Central Bank branch, ultimately leading them to Teka Naka in Panchpaoli. Further investigation revealed that the minor’s mother had actually moved away from the area five years prior.

Using mobile location tracking, Crime Branch officers located the main minor suspect at Awasthi Nagar Square.

The minor was found working with his brother at a local paan shop and already had a prior record of offenses. Acting on his information, officers apprehended the second accomplice. The police recovered stolen items from the minors valued at ₹1.35 lakh.
