The Commissioner of Police informed the media on Friday that the crime branch successfully arrested the accused in the Pardi rape case, where a 9-year-old girl was sexually assaulted as a result of a house break-in in the presence of her younger sister. The accused is identified as Ganpat Nanaji Jaipurkar (56)

Dr Singal spoke to the media, the accused is a carpenter by profession and had offered the victim's five-year-old sister Rs 20 to remain silent after sexually assaulting the minor. This incident occurred on Sunday after in the Pardi area, when the two girls were home alone as their parents, daily wagers, had gone out for work.

The family moved back to Nagpur three months ago from Gondia, where they had lived for the past few years. The crime came to light when the victim told her parents what had happened after they returned home.

They immediately went to the Pardi Police Station to lodge an FIR. The medical examination of the victim confirmed that she was raped.

According to the victim’s five-year-old sister, the culprit was a Marathi-speaking man with a ‘tilak' on his forehead. “Crime Branch teams checked the footage of hundreds of CCTV cameras installed at various places in the area to identify the accused and finally arrested Jaipurkar,” Dr. Singal said.
