Cyber Fraud in Nagpur: Woman’s Bank Account Hacked, Rs 1.59 Lakh Stolen
A 26-year-old woman in Nagpur lost Rs 1.59 lakh to a cybercriminal after falling for a phishing scam involving fake parcel delivery.

Nagpur, India: A 26-year-old woman reported losing Rs 1.59 lakh to a cybercriminal who hacked her bank account. In her complaint to the police, the victim, who lives at Raj Complex in Mankapur, mentioned that she received calls from an unknown individual between October 6 and 8.
The caller informed her that a parcel had arrived from a courier company and that her residential address needed to be updated. He then sent her a phishing link via text message. After she clicked on the link, her bank account was compromised, resulting in Rs 1.59 lakh being transferred to various other bank accounts.
After the victim filed her complaint, the Mankapur Police registered a case under Section 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, in conjunction with Section 66(d) of the Information Technology Act.
