Lakshya Sen continues to feel the effects of his consecutive losses in the men's badminton competition at the Paris Olympics 2024 even after more than 20 days have passed. In badminton, Lakshya represented India's last hope as PV Sindhu, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, Chirag Shetty, and HS Prannoy were all eliminated.

She faced Denmark's Viktor Axelsen in the semifinal and Malaysia's Lee Zee Jia in the bronze-medal shootout. But Lakshya was just a hair short in both games and had to head home without winning. It is regrettable that Lakshya was unable to alter the fact that no male shutter has ever won an Olympic medal for India.

Remembering the results, Lakshya struggles to deal with the disappointment of being so close yet being so far away. He was in peak condition both before and during the Olympics. Though his victory over Kevin Cordon was "deleted" because of the Guatemalan shuttler's injury withdrawal, Lakshya easily defeated Julien Carraggi, Jonatan Christie, Prannoy, and Chou Tien-Chen to advance to the semifinals.

However, in the first battle versus Axelsen, Lakshya wasted three game points, and in the second, he lost up a seven-point lead. A similar storyline played out against Lee, as Lakshya lost 1-2 after leading 1-0, bringing a disappointing conclusion to India's badminton campaign.

Following the defeat, Vimal Kumar and Prakash Padukone, the coach of Lakshya, did not hold back in their criticism, accusing the shuttlers of being the reason behind India's 12-year Olympic medal winning streak.

His coach had even taken away his phone during the Games, as Lakshya later disclosed, yet all he got from his daughter Deepika Padukone was love. After his bronze medal match, the actor contacted Lakshya and offered words of consolation.
