Dr. Mohan Bhagwat Unveils Portrait of RSS Leader Madhav Sadashivrao Golwalkar

In a moving ceremony held at Sitaram Bhavan, Ram Nagar Square, Dr. Mohan Bhagwat, Sarsanghachalak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), unveiled an oil portrait of Madhav Sadashivrao Golwalkar, also known as Guruji. The event was organized by The Dharampeth Mahila Multi State Co-Operative Society and celebrated Golwalkar's significant contributions to the RSS and the nation.
Dr. Bhagwat, who presided over the event, praised Golwalkar’s dedication and discipline, stating, “Guruji is an ideal for us. He followed the path of discipline and inspired everyone around him to do the same.” He emphasized that Golwalkar’s vision and leadership were instrumental in shaping the RSS for social and cultural change.
The ceremony included introductory remarks by Nilima Bawane, President of The Dharampeth Mahila Multi State Co-Operative Society, and an introduction of Dr. Bhagwat by Sarika Pendse, Vice President. Dr. Bhagwat spoke about the enduring influence of Golwalkar’s values, asserting that his portrait will serve as a constant reminder to pursue righteousness.
Dr. Bhagwat also discussed the concepts of dharm (duty) and kartavya (responsibility), highlighting the RSS’s role in fostering unity and collective effort for societal welfare.
During the event, Dr. Bhagwat met with children suffering from cancer, who are part of the Devta Life Foundation led by Kasturi Bawane, and offered his blessings. He also performed a maha-aarti of Lord Ganesh at the Sitaram Bhavan premises.
The gathering was attended by RSS members, social workers, and local citizens. Aasawari Deshpande conducted the proceedings, and Anjali Raut, Director of The Dharampeth Mahila Multi State Co-Operative Society, delivered the formal vote of thanks.
