Experts claim that yoga is an adaptable kind of exercise that is suitable for individuals of all ages, body types, and medical situations. Yoga instructors can adapt poses, sequencing, and props to make the practice accessible and advantageous for all students.

Himalayan Siddhaa Akshar, the founder of Akshar Yoga Kendraa, discussed how yoga can be modified for various groups in an interview with HT Lifestyle.

1. Children and Teenagers- Use entertaining positions like animal poses or partner poses to keep them interested in the activity. Emphasize on developing balance, strength, and flexibility with age-appropriate positions.

2. Adults- Stress reduction and relaxation strategies should be emphasized, particularly for people who lead hectic lives or have demanding occupations.

3. Senior Citizen- To increase your flexibility, mobility, and balance, concentrate on doing mild poses and exercises.
For assistance when doing standing postures or balance exercises, use chairs or other supports.

4. Pregnant Woman- Steer clear of postures like deep twists and powerful backbends that compress the abdomen or put pressure on the belly.
Adjust positions to account for shifts in center of gravity and balance by utilizing props like bolsters or blocks.

5. Medical Condition- Before beginning a yoga practice, speak with a healthcare provider, especially if you have any recent injuries or chronic problems.
Adjust postures to account for discomfort or physical restrictions; stay away from motions that make pre-existing problems worse.
