Nagpur is renowned for the Shree Mahalaxmi Jagdamba Mata Mandir, a Hindu temple admired for its spiritual significance and stunning architecture. Devoted to the Hindu goddess Jagdambha Mata (Mahalaxmi), it's commonly known as the Koradi Devi Temple in Koradi, near Nagpur. The temple is preparing for the upcoming Navratri festival, celebrated from October 15 to October 24, attracting devotees from far and wide.
What distinguishes this temple is the belief that during Navratri, the goddess Mahalakshmi Jagdamba takes on three forms each day: a pure maiden in the morning, a resplendent lady by the afternoon, and a wise woman in the evening. This unique spiritual experience draws a large number of devotees annually.
The temple has a rich history spanning over a century, symbolizing prayer for countless devotees. Recent extensive renovations have amplified its spiritual, mythological, and historical importance.
Initially planning a Bhakta Nivas with 165 rooms, the temple authorities shifted their focus to establishing a multi-organ transplant hospital due to the pandemic's need for medical facilities. The temple is now undergoing renovations, including a massive 151-foot Hanuman statue by the serene pond, adding to its spiritual charm.
