Encroachment Removal Action at Medical Chowk and Mahal Area By NMC

Nagpur Municipal Corporation removes illegal stalls from roads and footpaths, seizing truckloads of goods in a city-wide crackdown.

Nagpur, India- The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has launched a city-wide drive to remove illegal encroachments from footpaths and roads. This action is being taken under the guidance of the Municipal Commissioner, Dr. Abhijit Chaudhary, who has instructed for the pace of these operations to be increased.

Led by Additional Commissioner Ajay Charthankar, NMC's Enforcement Department targeted several areas. On Thursday, they focused on the Government Medical College and Hospital area, as well as the Mahal area. They removed illegal stalls and shops, seizing six truckloads of goods. Mr. Charthankar, along with other officials, oversaw the operation.

The enforcement teams also conducted similar actions in the Gandhibagh Zone, removing illegal structures from the roadsides and footpaths. This effort resulted in the confiscation of two truckloads of items.

Further actions were taken in the Dhantoli Zone, including Medical Chowk and surrounding areas, where approximately five truckloads of goods were seized. The crackdown continued into the afternoon, focusing on removing illegal stalls from key areas, resulting in the collection of around four truckloads of goods.

The NMC is determined to keep the city's roads and footpaths clear of illegal encroachments, ensuring smooth traffic flow and pedestrian safety.
