The actor Angus Cloud, who played the heroin dealer Fezco "Fez" O'Neill in the HBO series Euphoria, passed away at the age of 25. No cause of death was given by Cloud's publicist, Cait Bailey, who said that Cloud passed away on Monday at his family's Oakland, California, home. Cloud's family released a statement in which they paid tribute to "an artist, a friend, a brother, and a son."
"He buried his father last week and reportedly struggled greatly with the loss. The knowledge that Angus is now back with his father, who was his best friend, is the only solace we can find. We hope that Angus' demise will serve as a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not struggle with this, as he was honest about his battle with mental health."
Before being cast in Euphoria, Cloud hadn't done any acting. He was observed by casting scout Eléonore Hendricks as she passed him on the street in New York. Cloud initially resisted, thinking it was a con. After a meeting with the casting director Jennifer Venditti, the show's creator Sam Levinson eventually added him as a co-star for the first two seasons of the show with Zendaya. Some people thought Cloud was Fez so naturally that they assumed he was the real Fez, but Cloud refuted this idea.
One of the most popular television shows made Cloud its breakout star because to the role. In his debut movie, "The Line," which had its Tribeca Festival premiere earlier this year and starred John Malkovich and Alex Wolff in a college drama, he played a supporting role. Recently, Cloud was chosen as a co-star in "Scream 6." In music videos for Juice WRLD, Becky G, and Karol G, he has also appeared in cameos. Cloud was "extremely talented and a cherished member of the HBO and 'Euphoria' family," according to a statement from HBO. We offer his friends and family our sincere condolences during this trying time.
