EVM Failures Lead to Replacement of 57 Ballot Units in Nagpur District

EVM malfunctions in Nagpur led to the replacement of 57 ballot units, 39 control units, and 69 VVPAT machines during both mock and actual voting.

Nagpur, India: There were numerous reports of electronic voting machine (EVM) failures across all twelve Assembly constituencies in Nagpur district. A total of 57 ballot units, 39 control units, and 69 VVPAT machines were replaced across all twelve constituencies in the district.

The majority of the machines were replaced during the mock polls, which are held before the actual voting begins.

Of these, 37 ballot units, 29 control units, and 38 VVPAT machines were replaced due to malfunctions during the mock polls. By 5 pm, 20 ballot units, 10 control units, and 31 VVPAT machines were replaced because of EVM malfunctions during the actual voting.
