Nagpur, India: In a strong campaign push across the farm suicide-prone Yavatmal district, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis focused on the BJP's achievements and promises for the future, particularly emphasizing financial aid to farmers and the government's women-centric policies.
Speaking to a crowd, Fadnavis recalled the significant financial aid extended to farmers, highlighting the government's commitment to addressing issues in the agricultural sector. He also pledged to address any remaining deficiencies over the next five years, stressing the importance of continued support for the farming community.
Fadnavis praised the government's flagship Ladki Bahin Yojana, a women-centric initiative that ensures timely education and career opportunities for girls. He warned that if the MVA coalition were to return to power, these vital schemes could be scrapped, urging voters to reelect the Mahayuti alliance to preserve these programs.
The Deputy CM campaigned for BJP candidates Madan Yerawar (Yavatmal city), Raju Todsam (Arni), and Kisan Wankhede (Umarkhed) while addressing issues critical to local farmers. At Arni, Fadnavis made a bold promise: if the BJP retained power, farmers would receive free electricity for the next five years. He also assured compensation under the Bhavantar scheme, guaranteeing farmers a safety net in case the market prices of their produce fell. Additionally, Fadnavis vowed that villages would not be displaced under the Lower Painganga Project.
Fadnavis further shared his vision for the district's future, stating efforts would be made to establish a textile park in Yavatmal, boosting local employment and industrial growth. He also announced ambitious plans to ensure uninterrupted power supply to farmers, including the establishment of the country’s first agriculture power company, which will produce 14,000 MW of solar energy over the next two years.
"Farmers will get zero electricity bills, and they won’t have to worry about power costs for the next five years. We’re providing solar pumps to ensure long-term independence for farmers. Additionally, Maharashtra will be home to a unique solar-powered agriculture company, ensuring farmers can work 24/7 without any disruption," he stated confidently.
With his promises of free power, financial support, and long-term agricultural reforms, Fadnavis continues to make a compelling case for voters to back the BJP and its leadership in the upcoming elections.
