Nagpur, India: In a strong display of unity within the Mahayuti alliance, three BJP candidates—Devendra Fadnavis, Mohan Mate, and Krishna Khopde—officially filed their nominations for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections on Friday. Supported by Nitin Gadkari and representatives from other Mahayuti alliance partners, the three candidates submitted their paperwork.

Devendra Fadnavis filed his nomination with Suresh Bagle, for the Nagpur South West constituency, while Mohan Mate and Krishna Khopde submitted theirs for Nagpur South and Nagpur East, respectively. Before heading to their respective filing locations, the candidates, joined by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, State BJP President Chandrashekhar Bawankule, and hundreds of Mahayuti supporters, gathered at Samvidhan Square. Together, they paid homage to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar by garlanding his statue, then proceeded in a large roadshow toward the Collector’s office.

Prominent leaders including People’s Republican Party President Jogendra Kawade, MLC Pravin Datke, City BJP President Jitendra Kukde, and others attended alongside thousands of enthusiastic supporters and citizens.

Addressing the crowd before filing, Devendra Fadnavis appealed to voters to support Mahayuti, citing the accomplishments of the Modi-led government and the alliance’s contribution to Maharashtra’s development. “I have the people’s blessings and unwavering support, which gives me the confidence of victory,” he said to reporters afterwards, reflecting on the public’s response to Mahayuti’s work in both the state and at the Center.

Fadnavis also addressed questions from the media about his attire, explaining that he favours various colours but holds saffron close to his heart as a symbol of the party’s values. He reassured voters that under BJP’s governance, reservation rights would remain protected.

In addition, Mohan Mate shared his optimism for a strong outcome in the Nagpur South constituency, emphasizing the development projects achieved there. Krishna Khopde highlighted the transformation brought to Nagpur East by BJP initiatives, affirming that the progress would resonate with voters.
