Nagpur, India: Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has promised to boost infrastructure to develop the Hudkeshwar-Narsala area. At the inauguration of a ₹115.46 crore sewage and gutter line project under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme, Fadnavis highlighted the urgent need for infrastructure improvements to accommodate the area’s growing population.

Hudkeshwar and Narsala have seen significant urban expansion, with new residential neighbourhoods. Fadnavis, who had previously addressed the area's drinking water issues during his tenure as Chief Minister, explained that these efforts laid the groundwork for further development.

"The foundation for this growth was laid when we prioritized water supply to this region. Now, through well-planned initiatives, we will strengthen the infrastructure, including sewage management, roads, and sanitation," Fadnavis said. He also laid the foundation stone for a ₹35 crore road project in the same area.

The inauguration took place as part of the AMRUT (Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation) 2.0 scheme, which aims to improve urban infrastructure across the country. Fadnavis stressed that the sewage project will tackle environmental challenges by reducing pollution in the Pohrariver, which has been affected by untreated wastewater for years.

"The completion of this sewage treatment facility will not only address sanitation issues but also contribute to a cleaner environment, improving public health," he added.

The Deputy Chief Minister also credited local MLAs Chandrashekhar Bawankule and Tekchand Sawarkar for their persistent efforts in driving the project forward.
