Nagpur: A fatal accident took place late Saturday night at Jamtha T-point on Wardha Road when a cement mixer truck collided with a container and later overturned onto a car. The incident resulted in the death of the container driver, while four passengers in the car miraculously escaped with minor injuries.

The deceased, identified as Ramlal Chauran (50), a resident of Rajasthan, succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The accident occurred when a cement mixer truck first crashed into the front of the container truck and then overturned onto a car driven by Swapnil Subhashrao Hulke (33), a Diwan Layout, Manewada resident.

Swapnil, along with his three friends, had gone for dinner on Wardha Road and was returning to the city at around 3:30 a.m. As both Swapnil’s car and the container truck (KA-41/D-4415) were waiting to take a U-turn at Jamtha T-point, the cement-mixer truck (TS-22/T-9423), approaching from Nagpur, lost control and collided forcefully with the container truck.

The impact was so severe that it ripped off the container’s cabin. The cement mixer truck then overturned, landing on the bonnet of Swapnil’s car. Fortunately, Swapnil and his friends escaped with minor injuries.

The crash caused significant traffic disruption on Wardha Road, as the overturned vehicles blocked the road. Hingna Police, who were informed of the accident, rushed to the scene. Despite the use of two cranes, it took several hours to remove the heavily loaded vehicles, which worsened the traffic situation.

Ramlal, along with the injured cement-mixer truck driver, was taken to AIIMS hospital. Ramlal died during treatment, while the identity of the mixer truck driver remains unknown due to his injuries. Hingna Police have registered a case against the driver of the cement mixer truck and are continuing their investigation into the incident.
