Nagpur, India- The much-anticipated Nagpur-Mumbai Samruddhi Expressway is almost complete. The last section of the expressway, a 76-kilometre stretch from Igatpuri to Amane (Thane), is expected to be open for traffic by the end of August. Anilkumar Gaikwad, Managing Director of the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), provided an update on the project's progress.
"The work on the Igatpuri-Amane stretch is about 97% complete. The only remaining part is the viaduct over Kasara Ghat," Gaikwad said. This viaduct, which stands 52 meters high, has been particularly challenging to construct, causing some delays. "We plan to open one lane of the viaduct by mid-August and the second lane by the end of August," he added.
