Nagpur, India: The Bajaj Nagar Police have charged Niranjan Rajendra Nalawade, 28, from Battis Shirala, Sangli, under Section 108 of the BNS Act in relation to the suicide of Pratiksha Aadinath Bhosle, a 26-year-old police trainee.

Pratiksha, a resident of Kathi in Indrapur tehsil, Sangli, took her own life on July 9 at the Regional Police Training School (RPTS) in Surendra Nagar. She was found hanging in the hostel's third-floor room. In her suicide note, Pratiksha asked not to inform her mother, citing the potential for significant distress.

Previously married, Pratiksha had separated from her husband and later started a relationship with Niranjan, who had promised marriage. However, Niranjan married someone else without notifying Pratiksha, which reportedly led to her depression and eventual suicide.

The police investigation is ongoing.
