Fraud of Rs 2.59 Crore Uncovered, Woman Doctor Arrested in Wardha

Police arrest woman doctor in Wardha over a Rs 2.59 crore fraud. 11 people, including stock traders, charged in the case.

The Economic Offences Wing (EoW) has uncovered a fraud of Rs 2.59 crore and arrested a woman doctor from Wardha. The police have charged a total of 11 people in connection with the fraud.

Dr. Priti Nilesh Raut, who lives in Wardha, was arrested for her involvement in the fraud. The main suspect, Suraj Madhukar Savarkar from Seloo, Wardha, allegedly ran IX Academy Private Ltd for trading in the stock market. He promised investors returns of 5% to 15% and collected Rs 2.59 crore from them. The money was deposited into accounts at the Canara Bank branch in Kolkata.

When investors didn't receive their promised returns, they reported the matter to the police. Based on a complaint by Vikram Bajaj from Nagpur, the EoW started investigating the case.

Other people involved include Suraj Madhukarrao Savarkar and Surendra Madhukar Savarkar from Seloo, Wardha; Dr Nilesh Nareshrao Raut from Wardha; Viraj Suhas Patil from Dahisar, Mumbai; PR Traders (Prince Kumar), TM Traders (Rakesh Kumar Singh), RK Traders (Rahul Kumar Akela) from different places like Thane and Kolkata's Green Valley Agro.

A police officer said they are searching for the remaining suspects, most of whom have turned off their phones and are on the run.
