Kicking off the chess, this is the highly anticipated 13th St. Vincent Pallotti Memorial Nagpur District Interschool and Junior College Chess Championship (Boys and Girls). This event, scheduled from July 19th to 21st, 2023, will take place at St. Vincent Palloti School, Nagpur. The championship promises intense competition among talented young chess players from various schools and junior colleges across the district.

Following closely on its heels is the 21st L.G.Somalwar Memorial Inter-School Sub-Junior Team Chess Championship (Boys) and the 15th L.G.Somalwar Memorial Inter-School Chess Tournament (Girls). Organized by the Somalwar Academy Education Society, these tournaments will take place at Somalwar Khamla School from August 1st to 4th, 2023. The contests aim to foster teamwork and individual brilliance among sub-junior players, with separate categories for boys and girls.

Chess fanatics can mark their calendars for the highly anticipated 3rd Nagpur Below 1600 Open FIDE Rating Chess Tournament. This prestigious event, hosted by the Kalpana Prakash Welfare Foundation, will be held at the esteemed G.H.Raisoni Institute of Information and Technology, Wadi Hingna Link Road, from August 13th to 15th, 2023. The tournament welcomes players with a FIDE rating below 1600 and promises exciting battles on the chessboard.

The chess fever continues with the 1st Nagpur One-day International FIDE Rapid Rating Chess Tournament. Also organized by the Kalpana Prakash Welfare Foundation, this rapid chess event will take place on August 16th, 2023, at the G.H.Raisoni Institute of Information and Technology, Wadi Hingna Link Road. Players can look forward to showcasing their rapid chess skills in this thrilling tournament.

All the previous events hold significant recognition from the Chess Association Nagpur, the official body for chess in the Nagpur district affiliated with the Maharashtra Chess Association. Participants are advised to ensure the recognition status of any chess events they intend to join, as only those organized under the Chess Association Nagpur's banner are officially recognized.

While aspiring to uphold clarity in the organization of chess events, the Chess Association Nagpur has noticed the existence of unapproved day and weekend events organized by certain individuals, organizers, and institutions. These events lack the recognition of the Chess Association Nagpur, potentially compromising transparency and fair play.
