Saturday afternoon saw the city pounded by a powerful storm and intense rain. Numerous trees were toppled, inflicting damage to homes, cars, and electrical infrastructure. As a result, the city's fire and rescue services had to scramble throughout the entire area.

In several parts of the city, blackouts were caused by the fall of numerous streetlight and power poles. Previously, from March 16 to 18, Vidarbha, which includes Nagpur and the surrounding areas, was under a "Yellow Alert" because of a hailstorm warning issued by The Nagpur Meteorological Centre (RMC).

Forecasts from the Weather Department indicate that on March 17 and 18, there could be hailstorms and strong winds in the districts of Nagpur, Bhandara, Gondia, and Chandrapur.

Similarly, from March 16 to 18, there may be strong winds in the Wardha and Gadchiroli districts. But regions like Amravati, Akola, Yavatmal, Buldhana, and Washim are anticipated to be dry with little to no significant weather disturbances.
