Nagpur, India: The Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court has directed the CEO to ensure that 1,933 teachers from Gadchiroli Zilla Parishad receive their due financial benefits under the 6th and 7th Pay Commission guidelines within a three-month period.

Justices Nitin Sambre and Vrushali Joshi ruled that, based on a government decision dated August 6, 2002, government and Zilla Parishad employees in Naxal-affected and tribal regions must receive a monthly incentive allowance ranging from ₹200 to ₹1500 (or 15% of their salary), depending on their pay scale.

Despite this requirement, these teachers have only been receiving the allowance as per the 5th Pay Commission, with no adjustments under the 6th and 7th Pay Commissions. Consequently, the teachers filed a petition in the High Court, which accepted their appeal.

Additionally, the court instructed the secretary of the rural development department to issue a directive to all Zilla Parishads, ensuring strict adherence to the policy of providing mandatory incentive allowances.
