Indian sprinter Hima Das, popularly known as the Dhing Express, shared insightful words of wisdom with aspiring athletes regarding the significance of discipline and perseverance in attaining success. She spoke these wise comments at the flag-raising and date-announcement ceremony for this Sunday's sixth Khasdar Krida Mahotsav at Parvana Bhavar, Kingsway.
"I started my running journey in 2017 and won the title of world U-20 champion within a year," Das revealed. Although some may perceive this accomplishment as effortless, many sacrifices were made in order to get there. I made several sacrifices, like having to spend time away from my parents and other family members and giving up my favorite meal, all while devoting myself to this cause.
Nitin Gadkari, a union minister, served as the event chairman. The BJP Maharashtra Sports Cell's Sandip Bhondve, former mayor of the city Sandip Joshi, Dr. Piyush Ambulkar, Ashish Mukim Sudhir Dive, Nagesh Sahare, Dr. Padmakar Charmode, and other individuals were also present on the occasion.
"I'm from a little village with a very lowly background. If I can accomplish all of this achievement, why can't you all? My success in sports helped me make new acquaintances, and titles like "Dhing Express of India" and "Golden Girl of Assam" were accolades I received.
"Ojas Pravin Deotale, the world compound archery champion and triple gold medallist from the Asian Games, is our pride," Nitin Gadkari said in a statement on the occasion. It gives me great pleasure to declare that Ojas will take part in the sixth Khasdar Krida Mahotsav. We are proud of Ojas, who has previously competed in the KKM and brought honors to the nation and city. My goal in founding KKM was to see young people like Ojas win honors for the nation.
Season 6 of the nation's first grassroots multisport event, Khasdar Krida Mahotsav, also known as Chak de, Khelo Nagpur Khelo, will launch in Oranges on January 12.
