Vidarbha, Gadchiroli, India: The democratic process has commenced in the Gadchiroli district from Friday with early home voting for elderly voters over 85 and individuals with disabilities, as part of the Maharashtra Assembly election. In the Aheri constituency, all 38 registered home voters successfully cast their ballots.
Residents from various areas within the Aheri Assembly Constituency, including Sironcha, Aheri, Ettapalli, and Mulchera talukas, were registered for home voting in a recent election.
This group included elderly individuals, such as 98 year old Mr. Jagdish from Mulchera and an 88 year old female voter, as well as disabled voters like 35 year old Basanti Vishwas. Other community members, including Kishtaiya Kommamera, Jaibunnisha Sheikh, Fanibhushan Mitra, and Sumanta Sushil Mandal, also participated.
A significant number of elderly and disabled voters in Gadchiroli exercised their right to vote through home voting. Specifically, 277 voters over the age of 85 and 128 disabled voters were registered, enabling them to participate in the electoral process without needing to visit polling stations.
