Nagpur: A controversy erupted on Saturday after reports claimed that questions from Section A of the HSC Class 12 Maths paper had gone viral on mobile phones just before the exam began. The incident raised fresh concerns about the security of the examination process, sparking debates across the state.

According to sources, some questions from Section A, carrying 16 marks for eight questions, were allegedly circulated on mobile phones around 10:30 am, just half an hour before the 11 am exam. The incident reportedly occurred at an exam center in Nagpur, leading to suspicious activity outside several centers. Witnesses claimed to have seen young individuals behaving suspiciously, which further fueled rumors of a paper leak.

Despite the widespread speculation, the Divisional Board has denied any claims of a paper leak. Chintaman Wanjari, President of the Divisional Education Board, Nagpur, stated, "All authorities, including the district collector, police commissioner, and superintendent, were on high alert. I received several calls regarding this matter, but no concrete evidence was presented. If there had been proof, the cybercrime branch would have been involved for immediate action. As no such incident occurred, these reports are simply rumors."

The alleged incident has reignited discussions about the security measures in place for the HSC exams. Many are now demanding stricter rules, including banning mobile phones for not only students but also teachers, center heads, invigilators, and school staff within exam centers.

The HSC Class 12 Maths paper controversy has sparked a debate on the need for enhanced security measures to ensure the integrity of the examination process. Despite the Divisional Board's denial, the incident has raised questions about the safeguards currently in place to prevent such occurrences.
