Nagpur, India: In a disturbing incident in Nagpur's Nandanvan area, a man tried to kill his wife by slashing her throat and also injured his son. After the attack, he attempted to take his own life. The family is now receiving treatment at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), with the wife, Pinky, in critical condition.
The man, 36-year-old Ravi Nandurkar, works as a cobbler and lives with his wife Pinky and their two sons, Piyush (14) and Yash (12). The family had recently moved to a rented house in Juna Bagadganj.
The attack happened around 4 a.m. on Monday when Ravi reportedly attacked Pinky while she was asleep. When Pinky screamed in pain, their son Piyush woke up and tried to stop his father. Ravi injured Piyush as well, slashing his finger and threatening him not to call for help.
The landlord of the house, hearing the noise, became suspicious and checked on the family. Seeing Pinky bleeding and Ravi holding a knife, the landlord quickly called the police. Pinky managed to unlock the door and collapsed outside. Police arrived and took the family to GMCH.
According to sources, Ravi had been facing financial issues and had a debt of ₹3.5 lakh, which caused fights between the couple. Ravi’s condition is also serious after he slashed his own throat. The police are investigating the incident.
