Nagpur, India: A team from the Special Protection Group (SPG) arrives in Nagpur on Thursday to check security arrangements for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit on March 30. The team reaches the city early in the morning and meets with police officials to discuss the initial plans. After this, the SPG team and City Police inspect the PM’s route to spot any security risks. Later, senior police officials and city administrators join a meeting to finalise the security measures.

The SPG checks the route and decides how many security personnel are needed along the roads and at the event location. As in previous visits, some roads will be closed during PM Modi’s tour. During his visit, PM Modi will visit the Solar Industries facility and lay the foundation stone for the Madhav Netralay Premium Centre near Vasudeo Nagar Metro Station on Hingna Road.

He will also share the stage with Dr Mohan Bhagwat, head of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), at the event. After landing at Sonegaon Air Force Station, PM Modi will go to Reshimbagh to visit Dr Hedgewar Smruti Mandir and meet senior RSS leaders. He will then visit Deekshabhoomi to pay tribute to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. His last event will be a visit to Madhav Netra Pedhi.

Increased Security in Sensitive Areas
The Intelligence Bureau (IB) is closely watching riot-affected areas before PM Modi’s visit. A special IB team is keeping an eye on possible security threats, but no major warnings have been received yet. SPG officials are also expected to meet with IB personnel to finalise the security plan and route for PM Modi’s visit to Nagpur.
