Illegal Liquor Dealer Ajay Chichghare Apprehended After Multiple Escapes in Gadchiroli

Ajay Chichghare, an illegal liquor dealer, has been arrested after multiple escapes, linked to a violent incident with police in Gadchiroli.

Vidarbha, Gadchiroli, India: Ajay Chichghare, an illegal liquor dealer who had been on the run after allegedly hitting a police vehicle, has finally been apprehended by the authorities.

On October 1, a case was filed against Ajay Chichghare at the Gadchiroli Police Station for attempting to murder officers from the Local Crime Branch by ramming their vehicle. Following the incident, Chichghare disappeared. The police eventually located and arrested him in the Sitabuldi area of Nagpur on October 11. However, he managed to escape again, taking advantage of the darkness.

After receiving a tip that Ajay Chichghare was heading to Gadchiroli, Local Crime Branch officers set a trap and arrested him. During the original incident, Ajay was leading the liquor vehicle in a separate four-wheeler and was in communication with Gaurav Kodap and Pranay Pandilwar, who were in the vehicle transporting the liquor.

Following the arrest of the three suspects involved in the crime, the police also confiscated the Bolero pick-up truck used to transport the liquor and the Swift car that the main accused had used as a lead vehicle from Nagpur.

The accused were brought before the court, where they were placed in judicial custody until October 29. They are currently being held at Chandrapur Jail.

The investigation is being led by Bhagat Singh Dulat of the Local Crime Branch. Acting under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Nilotpal and Additional SP M Ramesh, the operation involved PI Ulhas Bhusari, API Bhagat Singh Dulat, and police officers Satish Kattiwar, Premanand Nandeshwar, Akbar Poyam, Rakesh Sontakke, Srikant Boina, Srikrishna Parchake, Manik Dudhabale, Shukrachari Gavai, and Umesh Jagdale.
